To prevent hazards such as chimney fires caused by creosote buildup, chimney cleaning must be performed at regular intervals. Chimneys are defined as exhaust systems to which fireplaces for solid fuels are connected. Chimney cleaning serves both for fire protection, by removing soot, and for ensuring the operational safety of the fireplace.

CARRYING OUT THE CHIMNEY CLEANING

For chimney cleaning, the appropriate brushes are selected, depending on the cross-section, material of the chimney and type of combustion residues, and placed on a rope, rod or viper. The brush should be about 1" larger than the cross-section of the chimney.

Then the brush is guided into the chimney and the entire length of the chimney is cleared of the soot and other combustion residues. Then all combustion remains are removed from the bottom of the chimney.
